Flake isn’t just comparing Trump to Stalin. He’s equating the GOP to Stalin’s enablers.

GOP Sen. Jeff Flake is free to speak his mind because he is retiring rather than risking a loss in the primary because he has been an outspoken critic of President Trump. His argument is that to save the party, other Republicans need to follow his lead in not standing by Trump.

Also on another thread I just posted basically the same message from Mike Murphy in a quote in another article.

Along with a spate of recent stories on sites like Politico and Axios on the worry about the next elections, I'd say it's a safe bet that this is now a genuine "talking point" being passed around by the one wing of the GOP, and not just a loner Flake thing "who's saying this only because he doesn't have to run". What i am saying is that I suspect a lot of GOP political consultants are telling their clients that they are going to have to stand up to Trump if they want to stay electable, to stop treating him as a party leader.
