I think the Turks could live with the Rojavans being pusher back east of the Euphrates so most of their southern border isn't infested with this threat. The fables about the Turks or the US somehow allying with IS elements is old fake news propaganda favored by Iran, Russia and Assad. It doesn't matter who pushes it because Turkey is determined to clear the western section of their southern border before the division lines harden. Now that the US is stuck to the Rojavan tar-baby they have to act the good partner but I doubt any real troop deployment would be expected. Our troops are coming home to march in MAGA parades and recieve thanks from a proud CiC.

Thu, 08 Feb 2018 22:03:44 +0000 Peter comment 248117 at http://dagblog.com Good business for arms http://dagblog.com/comment/248100#comment-248100
In reply to Syria war: US bombs

Good business for arms manufacturers, especially with less regulations on sales:

The White House is pushing to implement as early as March (2018) a plan that would make it easier to sell some weapons to foreign partners through a process some say eliminates key regulatory and congressional oversight, government officials and staffers tell U.S. News.

The proposal, first reported by Reuters in September, would affect the sale of small weapons and ammunition, delighting proponents who say the current process is too cumbersome while raising concerns among some experts about the risk of deadly arms falling into the wrong hands.

Thu, 08 Feb 2018 19:56:27 +0000 NCD comment 248100 at http://dagblog.com Here's the A.P. version, they http://dagblog.com/comment/248086#comment-248086
In reply to this going on as well!!!

Here's the A.P. version, they obviously invited press for a P.R. show:

At US Outpost in Syria, US General Backs Kurdish Fighters, Feb. 7

MANBIJ, SYRIA —

On the ground in Syria, the top U.S. general in the coalition fighting the Islamic State group pledged on Wednesday that American troops would remain in the northern Syrian Kurdish town of Manbij despite Ankara’s demands for a U.S. pullout.

“We're here to ensure the lasting defeat of ISIS is maintained in this area,” Lt.
