The Toronto Sun article says there were “ anti-racists” and so- called racist. The article then describes proud- to- be rednecks who interrupted the meeting with shouts and a white supremacist sitting in the audience. I guess these were the so-called racists.

Nova Scott’s has a rich black history. Matthieu de Costa, a freedman, was one of the original non-indigenous explorers of the area. Novia Scotia was also the place where many blacks who fought for the British in the Revolutionary War were placed for their safety after fleeing the United States when the British lost.

TORONTO — It was racism industry on full display.

In one corner, you had the “anti-racists” who gathered to talk about racism in Canada and new legislation to end it. In the other, you had the so-called “racists.”

Needless to say, this was set up to be a powder keg.

What was billed as an “Anti-Racism Town Hall” at the Grant African Methodist Episcopal Church on Gerrard St. at Woodbine Ave. on Thursday evening turned into part socialism lecture and part ‘The Jerry Springer Show’ [....]

University of Toronto student group says racial violence and harassment a health and safety issue

The Graduate Student Union’s race and ethnicity caucus wrote a letter calling on the Canadian Union of Public Employees to address recent incidents on campus that have created a “toxic workplace environment.”

The union representing University of Toronto teaching assistants is promising action after hearing a student group’s concerns over “multiple instances of racial violence and harassment” on campus and what they consider the university’s inadequate response.

The Graduate Student Union’s race and ethnicity caucus wrote a letter Feb. 6 calling on the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) 3902 to address recent incidents of racism on campus that have created a “toxic workplace environment for U of T employees." [.....]
