She has committed crimes against our national laws and against international law. Christians can pile on with some laws of their own. Of course there is somebody better. Doing the right thing and blocking her would not guarantee getting someone better but it is still the right thing to do. I see a bigger risk of a Democratic candidate losing votes because they had voted to confirm her than if they voted against confirmation. If that is so then what is their excuse, or rather their reason, to vote for her. I see no excuse.

edited a misspelled word.

Fri, 16 Mar 2018 23:45:15 +0000 A Guy Called LULU comment 250198 at http://dagblog.com Dems & the woman who covered http://dagblog.com/comment/250197#comment-250197
In reply to Gina Haspel’s CIA Nomination Is A Women’s Milestone We’d Be Wise To Avoid

Dems & the woman who covered up torture.

Obstruction of justice, and destruction of humanity.

Wanton destruction of evidence should not be rewarded. Some will vote for conformation of undesirable people. If they block the undesirable another undesirable will be appointed to the job. My solution is to get rid of the folks appointing the undesirables. I can get rid of Democrats who will vote for undesirable people, or I can get rid of Republicans who appoint undesirable people. Attacking the appointment part of the problems seems to most efficient method. Beauregard Sessions, Ben Carson, Rick Perry, Betsy DeVos, etc. would not have been appointed by Hillary.

Fri, 16 Mar 2018 19:13:23 +0000 rmrd0000 comment 250180 at http://dagblog.com Can you imagine that http://dagblog.com/comment/250168#comment-250168
In reply to The problem the country faces

Can you imagine that Democrats are any part of the problem. These appointees won't won't get confirmed without Democratic votes like they got last time. Cotton is horrible choice for any position in foreign policy. I predict he will be appointed to one before Trump leaves office. I don't see reason to believe that any Democrat who can justify voting to confirm either Haspel or Pompeo would fail to find a way to justify confirming Cotton.

Fri, 16 Mar 2018 15:39:05 +0000 A Guy Called LULU comment 250168 at http://dagblog.com The problem the country faces http://dagblog.com/comment/250165#comment-250165
In reply to Gina Haspel’s CIA Nomination Is A Women’s Milestone We’d Be Wise To Avoid

The problem the country faces is the people making the appointments. Trump and the Republicans will never appoint quality people. Until we get rid of the real problem, the Congressional Republicans. we are just going through the motions. Tom Cotton, the Senator from Arkansas, was among the possibilities. Cotton is not a better option.

Fri, 16 Mar 2018 15:07:54 +0000 rmrd0000 comment 250165 at http://dagblog.com Some thoughts on this and http://dagblog.com/comment/250164#comment-250164
In reply to Gina Haspel’s CIA Nomination Is A Women’s Milestone We’d Be Wise To Avoid

Some thoughts on this and other immanent confirmation hearings.

At this moment, the surest and most immediate first step in beginning a process to prevent this more-than-plausible scenario from developing into a reality is to use the Senate confirmation hearings of Mike Pompeo and Gina Haspel to challenge powerfully the entire foreign and security policy of this aberration of an administration.

Fri, 16 Mar 2018 15:03:40 +0000 A Guy Called LULU comment 250164 at http://dagblog.com
