I agree that many of the issues that consume our dialog today will disappear and be replaced with new issues in the future. I'm just more cynical about the kids of today being any more capable of dealing with those new problems any better than we were. Or caring about them any more than we did.

Facebook’s silver lining: Data furors fade

First comes the news of yet another improper leak of personal data. Then the outrage and investigations in Washington, the calls for a chastened CEO to testify in front of Congress, the cries for tough news laws and regulations to protect people’s privacy.

Then, typically, nothing much happens.

Thu, 29 Mar 2018 20:33:08 +0000 ocean-kat comment 250823 at http://dagblog.com To see Facebook's, it asks me http://dagblog.com/comment/250793#comment-250793
In reply to Are you ready? This is why Facebook stock is crashing, investors see this, that if we have the power to manipulate the data that's collected on us, it's not worth as much because it can be faked. It was valuable when it was like the results of a blind study. Now the guinea pigs are no longer blind. I.E., you can lie to a pollster.

Thu, 29 Mar 2018 06:50:29 +0000 artappraiser comment 250792 at http://dagblog.com
