I don't know what it was but it wasn't part of Russian or Syrian troops attacking the US proxy forces. Most of the US troops on the ground in Syria are trainers and spotters with some special ops follks who's leaving will change little because US air power has been and will remain the deciding force along with the Kurds against the IS. His comment is confused because the troops Trump plans to bring home are not involved in the conflict with Assad or the Russians but with the IS.
