The Gwen Stefani album Angel Music Baby is totally solid (have posted several tracks from it here). Not much on the U2 or last Bowie, but the Johnny Cas track was worthy. Outkast/Hey Ya feels like it's been playing gor 40 years now. I can't listen to Put a Ring on it w/o thinking of Michell and car karaoke. Lots of other stuff to give a listen to.</p> </div></div></div> Fri, 03 Aug 2018 00:22:40 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 255697 at http://dagblog.com Yes, thank you ArtA.  I would http://dagblog.com/comment/255694#comment-255694 <a id="comment-255694"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/comment/255659#comment-255659">wabby, I just ran across this</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Yes, thank you ArtA.  I would enjoy the hell out of this, unfortunately, here on the "Fresh Coast" this kind of film   experience is too rare a bird.  Although, it is not entirely unheard of for one or two of the Native American cultural centers to put forth something like this. I will be on the lookout. </p> </div></div></div> Thu, 02 Aug 2018 23:03:39 +0000 wabby comment 255694 at http://dagblog.com well, here you go, while over http://dagblog.com/comment/255672#comment-255672 <a id="comment-255672"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/comment/255669#comment-255669">Yeah, well, Bowie&#039;s gone,</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>well, here you go, while over there for a news story, I find <em>Rolling Stone</em> trying to stay relevant with <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/the-100-greatest-songs-of-the-century-so-far-666874/">The 100 Greatest Songs of the Century – So Far</a></p> </div></div></div> Thu, 02 Aug 2018 05:58:12 +0000 artappraiser comment 255672 at http://dagblog.com Yeah, well, Bowie's gone, http://dagblog.com/comment/255669#comment-255669 <a id="comment-255669"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/comment/255655#comment-255655">Hah, doesn&#039;t that say it all</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Yeah, well, Bowie's gone, Mick's turned 75. So it seems like he's finally decided what side of the cusp he is on.</p> <p>And yeah, this is getting at why I posted the article, it's like David Bowie is ancient history--1980's--and it was real hard work to figure out what his whole shtick was and within what context.<img alt="surprise" height="23" src="http://cdn.ckeditor.com/4.5.6/full-all/plugins/smiley/images/omg_smile.png" title="surprise" width="23" />.</p> <p>Edit to add: I am reminded of my GenX brother (the surprise "baby," all 4 of his siblings are boomers) shocking me by complaining to me recently that "even the oldies stations aren't old enough for my taste."</p> </div></div></div> Wed, 01 Aug 2018 21:27:11 +0000 artappraiser comment 255655 at http://dagblog.com My eldest child, 37 years old http://dagblog.com/comment/255638#comment-255638 <a id="comment-255638"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/link/tituss-burgess-gets-schooled-david-bowie-25713">Tituss Burgess Gets Schooled on David Bowie</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>My eldest child, 37 years old, has decided that Titus Andromedon is his new spirit animal.
