Obama performed a great service for the US while in office by helping elect about 1000 republicans and then finishing his reign helping elect President Trump. Now he's back doing his best to extend that legacy of progress. Republicans will need to donate to his library to be sure all the pictures of those smiling republicans are displayed next to his other meager achievements.

lol, I don't not recognize that syndrome! (I figured out in my early 20's after a short stint writing a monthly column for a city magazine, that it's not only quicker, but far easier and less painful, to write long convoluted sentences!)

Good point about Nunes, I think it might be correct. Seemed to me the main effect was to offer a reminder that things could be a lot calmer and grownup, and if that's what you want, come out and vote for a Dem this time. (Which might not actually be true with a Dem Congress and a Trump president?! so best not get into too much detail?)

It is interesting that the visit to California did not directly include supporting Janz against Nunes.
Would that be an example of not "triggering the trumpsters" that the politico article assumes will happen but has not happened yet? Or does something not happening sometimes mean the anticipated event has not occurred?
I have been informed that I have exhausted my supply of double negatives so I will have to phrase any observations of this kind in an admittedly torturous manner for the foreseeable future.

His messages were different and tailored as to the electorate needed to win in each location. In Illinois it was to energize the base to get out and vote. In California it was an appeal to Independents, swings and disaffected Republicans.
