I wonder if the biggest damage is "oh, he's not exceptional after all - he's just like my asshole boss".

Not the 25th Amendment - just the swamp thing was a let-down in the end.

"What if you held a revolution and nobody came?" - seems this was always just a problem on the left.

and "the White House" is certainly acting like it is very dangerous. Then there's the flood of anecdotals I see allover the place of every Tom Dick and Harry, like Uber drivers and baristas, asking other people "so who do you think wrote the NYTimes op-ed?" And I saw a tweet, don't know if true, that the op-ed was viewed 10 million times already a couple days ago. Overall, I'd certainly call that a viral meme. Craziness is certainly easier for busy uninformed people to grasp than convoluted long collusion plots with a casts of 100 or more characters that require 50 Seth Abramson tweets every day for a year to even outline and a shitload of federal prosecutors, cases and witnesses that offhand don't see to have a lot to do with the here and now? On the other hand, I'd venture a guess most people do get office politics and crazy bosses and would find a book about the same in the White House with a title like "Fear" from a very famous non-partisan reporter pretty compelling and worth an investment in time.

My guess is the avalanche or steady drop has started - though Rasmussen keeps screwing it up.
