Ford claimed there was an eye witness or accomplice in her story. Mark Judge supposedly broke up the attack and allowed Ford to escape but he stated clearly the incident never happened and he along with everyone else in their circle of friends don't recall this party. Your use of rapist to describe Kavanaugh without a modifier was clearly an unsupported biased projection that there were other instances where Kavanaugh attacked young women.

Tue, 09 Oct 2018 17:22:33 +0000 Peter comment 259709 at http://dagblog.com As they kill off "the http://dagblog.com/comment/259702#comment-259702
In reply to I saw that on Twitter and it

As they kill off "the patriarchy" they might take note that the patriarchy still controls 90% of the earnings. And while with automation there's a decrease in imbalanced need for men to kill themselves in soldiering, coal mines, construction jobs, police work, hazmat cleanup, garbage trucks, quarries, oil rigs, lumberjacking, truck/bus driving, ocean faring, sports biz and other dangerous work or 70-80 hour per week expectation that might have warranted some of the "soothing of the male psyche" as art of our great cultural tradeoff, those psyches might not react so complacently to a smug sidelining of anything that's perceived as too testosterone. There's a difference to getting rid of rape culture to "men don't do anything useful" which *some* SJW's may not quite grasp.

Tue, 09 Oct 2018 17:04:00 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 259702 at http://dagblog.com Certainly I think Kavanaugh http://dagblog.com/comment/259700#comment-259700
In reply to Flav, it's a bit late to

Certainly I think Kavanaugh is a rapist. Something traumatic may have happened to Ford back then but no one, friend or foe, could recall this supposed party and her story was full of holes and changed over time. I doubt Feinstein believed Ford's story but saw it as useful for a power play and held it for weeks to leak it at the opportune moment to delay if not stop the confirmation. Politics has always been a dirty business but the snowflakes are showing the world a new low dirty mob mentality in their failing quest to regain power.

Tue, 09 Oct 2018 14:08:50 +0000 Peter comment 259691 at http://dagblog.com I saw that on Twitter and it http://dagblog.com/comment/259686#comment-259686
In reply to Tough time for dudes.

I saw that on Twitter and it was catchy and cute. But it also struck me that she is basically voicing it's the hypocrisy ya stupid lunks in a gentle, less angry way than "feminazis", which is the role that women have always played in most cultures as the soothers of the male psyche and the family stresses in general. And that got me thinking that as "the patriarchy" finally starts dying off and there are no longer many of the knee-jerk protectors of it like there are now--which will eventually happen--there will instead be very eloquent and tortured mourning of its demise in art and song by all sexes, and it will be very romanticized (Like people do now with like, the 1950's, both left and right--left with all the crap about how it was a golden age when the middle class was so happy and could afford everything--except for things like Betty Friedan screaming existential pain in the kitchen, that is, and no credit for anyone but the upper class, etc.) You don't get rid of 2,000+ year old culture easy.

Tue, 09 Oct 2018 13:16:10 +0000 artappraiser comment 259686 at http://dagblog.com Tough time for dudes. http://dagblog.com/comment/259682#comment-259682
In reply to Justice Kavanaugh Hires Only Female Clerks, a Supreme Court First

Tough time for dudes (w lyrics).

Tue, 09 Oct 2018 09:51:00 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 259682 at http://dagblog.com Peter, http://dagblog.com/comment/259679#comment-259679
In reply to I'm quit humbled by your

Peter,

I don't denigrate people. Including Kavaugh's law clerks ,no doubt first class, nor his family including his daughter who shamed us all.

I disagree with his position about abortion and with those who share it ,many good friends who otherwise agree with me on many other issues.

While I don't denigrate Kavanaugh I detest men who abuse women sexually. . He did . Dr Ford .

We both heard them . The two of them. Last week. She was convincing.Spoke for hours, plainly and to the point. I waited to see whether he would change my mind. I was open to that. People do. What did Keynes say?

"When I get new information I change my position What do you do , sir?"

So I waited last Thursday. He's a smart man. With a first class education per se. And in particular in marshalling facts and preventing them to lead his listeners to a conclusion. So I waited. I'm still waiting.

Not a word of that.

Instead he told us his family had suffered. He would have been quite right to explain that . After he taken you and me and the audience through information that would cause us to believe he was falsely accused. Which he never did. His way of demonstrating he was falsely accused was to falsely accuse the "Clintons ". And whine.

Why. ?With a once in a life time opportunity to compose a speech that would clear his reputation, he didn't .

Because he didn't write a speech at all. Up all night writing that? A lie. He didn't have the time, the energy or the tools to do that. Claiming he wrote that the night before his " performance" was like claiming he never attempted to rape Christine.

Instead it was Hamlet without the Prince. From what I have read about Kavanaugh he has always promoted and nurtured qualified young conservative women with clerkships and this batch may have been the most qualified seeking these positions. His intent may have been to fortify the conservative cause with more strong female voices that are lacking in todays political arena and will be needed for future battles. He may also be trying to show that he isn't going to hold a grudge against all women just because some women tried to destroy his and his family's lives. Whatever his reasons are some snowflakes will take the low road and denigrate or devalue these young women as affirimative action PR picks or eye candy for the boss's enjoyment.

Mon, 08 Oct 2018 22:21:33 +0000 Peter comment 259668 at http://dagblog.com
