Agreed. He is clearly angry. At the progressive liberals who let him down when he was young and idealistic, at the libertarians who didn't live up to his standards and at the world in general for not protecting his idols and letting them die. They are his martyrs; and as with anyone who commits their lives to the past, he is lost.

He fights against what he once championed. Bitterness is all he has left.

Notice no one here calls republicans repugnauts. We call them republicans or right wing or conservative. We criticize with information about issues. We don't name call. We don't have to name call. We know what we're talking about. If you could make good arguments you wouldn't have to name call either. Face it. You just have right wing talking points and insults. Or prove me wrong. Try this, Peter - you say you admire Yippie humor - why don't you try some? Instead you come across as a scold - how you going to exorcise the Pentagon or DNC with that vibe? Or like Kesey said at the anti-war protests, "Fuck it, just walk away... if you fight it, you become part of it". And instead pulled out a harmonica. Why not a few posts about music rather than snowflakes? Common fertile ground for dialog, if you want some.

PP, I'm dead serious about our uncivil war and you and others can take it or leave it. Your reference to the MC5. in your music post, brought back memories from a night far in the misty past when I watched them record their KOTJMF album at the Grande Ballroom, my ears are still ringing. One of them asked the crowd 'are you going to be part of the problem or part of the solution'. When they first played that catchy tune a couple years earlier at the Hideout a few blocks from my home the liberal democrat party and its minions were the 'problem' and it seems history is repeating itself.

He can't stop insulting us because that's all he has to be a part of the discussion. Here he wants to argue the partisan talking point that democrats paid an angry mob to protest in the halls of the powerful. It's absolutely clear that republicans do the same thing, that abortion protests are just as much a paid angry mob in the same way that democratic protesters are. Or neither are paid angry mobs. That obvious fact isn't something he's willing to admit. He's intelligent enough to see that everyone here knows more than he does on every subject and he loses every argument. Not because of his partisan leaning but because he doesn't know much beyond his right wing talking points. So he insults us instead.

We could have a more nuanced discussion on the balance between the right to protest and the rights of those protested against. Have the rights of protesters in the halls of Washington, at abortion clinics, and in other places exceeded the rights of senators, abortion doctors, and those entering facilities for services? But that's a non partisan discussion that he doesn't want to have and likely isn't capable having at the level we discuss issues here. So he insults us, because that's all he has.

ok so, even though I didn't see a lot of use on twitter, apparently media people have been hearing this talking point so much from political operatives that they are starting to crack:

Which would also explain WaPo headlining the story.

Suggestion You should try treating all of the readers of your comments like they have basic intelligence, the results might surprise you. If you find it hard with the automatic response where the agitprop just starts to flow, consider baby steps, one word at a time. Drop the use of snowflake, for example.
