After they were freed the good natured Russian guards took a train load of them on an endless train journey to nowhere. In the process of which the guards on one occasion put on a variety show for the freed prisoners.

For his part, Schindler before heading West with some prisoners to tell the (amazing ) story-in Yiddish to a GI, first gathered both the German guards and the Jewish prisoners and told them to just cool it for a few days until someone came to "liberate" them . And they all did.
