Only 31% of Catholics and 48% of Protestants view clergy in a positive light.

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/gallup-poll-clergy-honesty-ethics_us_5c23d864e4b0407e907f752f

Thu, 27 Dec 2018 03:16:56 +0000 rmrd0000 comment 263115 at http://dagblog.com This is another reminder that http://dagblog.com/comment/263101#comment-263101
In reply to The 15 Christians Who Live in South Carolina

This is another reminder that when so-called Evangelicals talk about Christianity, they are talking about being against abortion. They are not talking about racism, sexism, or humane treatment of strangers (immigration). Matt Lewis is a Christian and a Conservative who finds it difficult to find a true Christian message in the GOP, especially in the age of Trump. Lewis cannot change parties despite his religious misgivings because he says:

As someone who believes protection of the vulnerable extends to the lives of the unborn, switching teams is not an option for me.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/im-a-christian-and-a-conservative-trump-is-making-it-terribly-hard-to-be-both?ref=author

Lewis sees the unborn as needing protection but he is silent when it comes to racism and bigotry. This is the mindset of the Christian Conservative.

Wed, 26 Dec 2018 05:19:21 +0000 rmrd0000 comment 263101 at http://dagblog.com
