It's all basically two degrees of separation at most as to knowing who the others all are and their proclivities. So it's always easy to do any conspiracy you like. and they are the traditional favorites among "professional" conspiracy theorists.

That said, immediately came to mind after the full story came out on the "Leonardo" sale that the most curious thing was not that they could find two idjits from billionaire-potentate land to bid on it--sucker born every minute- it's that gulf potentates were bidding on art depicting not just a human figure, but an iconic Christian figural image. Multitudes of sinfulness to any Wahabbi! Mullah Omar would have them stoned....etc. Why? There's lots of other things you can throw multi millions at, things without human figures.

Tue, 08 Jan 2019 20:34:11 +0000 artappraiser comment 263453 at http://dagblog.com Wonkette weighs in on the http://dagblog.com/comment/263451#comment-263451
In reply to The Da Vinci Coda: Salvator Trumpdi?

Wonkette weighs in on the grand all-and-everything conspiracy theory (including that mad effing glowing orb...)

https://www.wonkette.com/what-does-leonardo-da-vinci-have-to-do-with-the...

Tue, 08 Jan 2019 19:24:17 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 263451 at http://dagblog.com Wow, I come from simpler http://dagblog.com/comment/263295#comment-263295
In reply to a lotta times it's just

Wow, I come from simpler times when it was just Dianetics or the Bhagavad Gita at airports - who knew salvation was so expensive.

Thu, 03 Jan 2019 08:41:11 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 263295 at http://dagblog.com a lotta times it's just http://dagblog.com/comment/263278#comment-263278
In reply to best story on Rybolovlev vs.

a lotta times it's just looking like all types of gangstas need their talismans/magic balls whatever (given that they are not strict adherents of like the Ten Commandments or similar codes,) and they will pay a pretty price for them:

Pablo Escobar’s wife says this painting may have saved her life (via @nytimes): https://t.co/eOqQ7XSgBX pic.twitter.com/VKzSekj20z
— Artsy (@artsy) January 3, 2019

Thu, 03 Jan 2019 01:47:35 +0000 artappraiser comment 263278 at http://dagblog.com best story on Rybolovlev vs. http://dagblog.com/comment/263277#comment-263277
In reply to The Da Vinci Coda: Salvator Trumpdi?

best story on Rybolovlev vs. Bouvier @ New Yorker Feb. 2016. It's a long read but it's worth it if you want to understand what really goes on with this type of crew, shenanigans galore. And how stoopid some oligarchs can be. And this was before the Saudis getting involved. Helpful too in understanding why there is this mega millions art market separate and removed from the much vaster"used" art market, which is flooded by boomer estates and where we are back at 1980's prices, where you're talking often three zeros, four zeroes max.

Thu, 03 Jan 2019 01:36:01 +0000 artappraiser comment 263277 at http://dagblog.com
