Seriously! As one cannot have a "debate" between 20 people, why even pretend? Just give them each a few minutes on stage to present their "act", like with the talent shows. (Need it be said: no swimsuit competition.)

It's 2019 - shouldn't we be running this as "Democrats Got Talent"/"Democratic Idol" rather than a stodgy overcrowded version of 1960 Nixon v JFK?

Dem voters can select the winners of each round & matchup (oh sorry, we have to give preference to Independents cuz they rule our world)

They can even perform special skills - skateboarding, stop-and-frisk, fence-sitting on issues, support of 3rd world authoritarians, waffling (can get Martha & Snoop to host this episode), et al
