John James is largely an empty suit - by some bios he became president of daddy's company after leaving the military (quadrupling earnings in 5 years single-handedly), on LinkedIn he was finishing 1 Masters and did another at UofM 2013-2015, so basically he was a show horse that talked to Chamber of Commerce people but was never actually President (since he ran for Senate starting 2017 - dad's not that stupid). Stabenow ran 0 negative ads against him (being black in MI that could be counterproductive), but those heady Trump days of 2016 are long gone, with GOP taking a dive, while the Dem House/Senate incumbent is Naval Reserves and quite strong, incl both hoi-polloi rich Grosse Pointe Detroit and more liberal common people areas incl Ann Arbor and main Detroit, - James' only strong area. Sure, James looks good on paper, but will fold, esp as issues like abortion and impeachment come to the fore.

And then there's how Trump screws the auto industry time and again, claiming to save jobs and then voila, they go to China or he launches a trade war with China killing exports, plus that bullshit heavily-subsidized but failed Foxconn deal in neighboring Wisconsin - good luck talking infrastructure and the need for a combat vet amidst all that.

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-06-20/remember-when-ford-cancelled-p...

Sun, 09 Jun 2019 14:02:00 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 268492 at http://dagblog.com
