Weiss was against the Iran nuclear deal, see his tweets from 2011, the "institute" that employs him is headed by a Michael Lewis who has strong financial ties to Israel (and citizenship?). (BTW, Does Weiss do anything but tweet?)

The dumbest most untrustworthy government in the world right now is ours, and Bolton has been calling for war with Iran for over a decade. A war would help Trump in re-election. The Saudi's own Trump and Jared, and would like nothing more than the US bombing Iran. MBS is also a liar and "dumb".

It's frankly absurd for Pompeo to be blaming Iran within hours of the incident, unless disinformation and opinion molding is the "usual" first move as a ginned up pro-conflict propaganda objective.

I find your theorizing quite plausible, NCD. Especially as there's been buzz about the U.S. pursuing diplomacy towards through backhand channels and the known chaos caused by Trump at the top about not giving a damn what underlings are up to. Other players bound to try to manipulate a situation like that.

If Mister Bone Saw will murder journalists (and Trump not only lets him get by with it, but sends him smart bombs and secret US technology and nuclear reactors), MBS would certainly send some of his assassination squad members to hit a Japanese oil tanker while the Japanese leader is in Iran trying to calm relations in the region.

Trump is bought off by Saudi money, and MBS can get away with anything. Even helping Trump start a war. Meanwhile, Barr is leading the purge of the CIA of any agents who would question this administration's subterfuge and lies.
