This is quite common reaction I am seeing in response to his announcement. People who managed to pay for college somehow with blood sweat or tears, and went with less expensive choices, are angry he's making it about forgiving the debt of those who mostly just borrowed:

Hello Senator Sanders, my family and I expended our savings, and I worked as a residential adviser to afford college. It cost $74,834 for two years of college at a public school. You said all Americans, so may I also be repaid my full tuition as well? I'll take a check.

Hey @BernieSanders , I worked all through college and went to a state school to obtain NO DEBT! The school wasn’t renowned & my GPA suffered, but I worked my ass off the first 5 years of my career until it didn’t matter. I want a bailout for the debt I could’ve incurred.

Yes, my title was inexact (though wld be good to know % split between mom's bridge club and Wall Street, and if any other groups in there).

Also, does Bernie know any fractions besides 11/11? I mean, cutting *half* people's student loan debt and funding *half* of future debt - that would cost half as much and perhaps be twice or more easier to pass Congress?

there's this excerpt @ WaPo to add what Daily Beast summarizes (I note they put it under the header "Free Pass"

Sanders was joined Monday by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who will introduce legislation in the House to eliminate all student debt in the United States, as well as Rep.
