I'd also say stuff like: "We don't just want someone who can win the election, but also someone who can be an effective president for 8 years, through 2029." And then mention that Biden would be 86 at the end of his second term, and Sanders would be 87.

Every bell curve has two fringes. There are always anomalies. Should we just assume that all the candidates that are nearly 80 are unusually bright and healthy for their age? My parents are both 90 and pretty healthy for their age but I see both an intellectual and physical decline. My guess is if we spent time with any of these older candidates we'd notice the decline that usually comes with their age.

Personal experiences can be uninterestng but have the advantage of being facts- extending one's own experience.

Here's one.

My daughter's mother- in law- died recently at 102 . After her husband - a prairie minister -died 20 years ago she remained active .Made a trip to Florida every winter and had whatever a trip to Florida does for you when you live in the Dakota; Followed current events. In her late 90s she said she had lived long enough and was ready to die but wanted to live to see the election of the first female US President,

Much of her family joined on election night and shared her disappointment.

She died a few months later.

Ezekiel Emmanuel is one of the many people I would like to buy for what he’s worth and sell him for what he thinks he’s worth.

(Old Southern expression), but definitely true in this case. I have heard him spout so much stuff during my 30 years, supposedly listening to his fake brilliance. He used to lecture at GWU when I was a student. Snore.

Edit to add more agreement: I used to worry about what VP Qtip could do with the Congress as president. But we have a Dem House now, and it would be too late for him to get anywhere now with just the Senate on his side.
