I made a comment. You come with an attack. The article noted that there are 10 million black voters in rural areas.

This election is still about Trump. This should be an easy pickup for the GOP. If the Democrats wins, or the race is close, it shows that Trump fatigue has spread to Red areas.

Not that I've looked at this closely, but I'm betting Tom Steyer's going to shake things up when he hits the Oct debates. Though I did appreciate Kamala Harris' justice proposal. Liz Warren declaring an end to fracking everywhere? Utter pandering stupidity.

And the political correctness thing? You think a lot of rural people care about that?

How about the bi-partisan thing that Biden (and Obama) is not ashamed to push?

The biggest concern expressed in the focus groups was that the local economy isn’t working for minorities. Finding employment was difficult, with higher-paying opportunities often out of reach because of the transportation needed to get there. Some people said they had decided not to work because transportation or child care costs were too high to make it worth it. They said the cost of health care contributed to their financial instability.

Participants in the focus groups also bemoaned the local education system, saying its reputation was so bad that employers often choose not to hire locally — or to pay workers from outside the area more.

McCready’s campaign has largely stuck to health care and education as its central message. He talks about the president when asked, but he’s not calling for impeachment and doesn’t often bring up Trump unprompted.

It doesn't say anything about the targeted group complaining about racism and white supremacists. They seem to have the same concerns as their white rural neighbors, go figure.

This is promising. Rural black voters have been ignored.

First of all, “rural” means the least populated parts of the country; it is not code for white. Nor for Trump die-hards. There are about 10 million rural people of color; that’s one out of every five rural residents. Immigrants were responsible for 37 percent of the population growth in rural areas from 2000 to 2018. And I know there are many white progressives in rural areas because my organization, the Black Voters Matter Fund, partners with several voting groups who mobilize them. These voters exist.

Because of a fundamental misunderstanding about who lives in rural areas, Democratic presidential campaigns have let outreach slide. Hillary Clinton reportedly did not have a rural council, for example, a group of advisers on rural issues, as Barack Obama did during his campaigns.
