Yes, there were commissions. Even something as basic and public as crash time they managed to shift. Why should we 100% accept much else? The made-for-TV story is good enough.

On April 12, the government released a transcript of the recording, but not the recording itself. The last entry in the transcript has the timestamp 10:03:09, consistent with the 9/11 Commission's story that the crash was at 10:03.
