Myself I really really dug Yang pointing this out:

When Williams sees a racist black figurine in his grandmother-in-law’s house, he eventually realizes that “the more I complain, the more I realize that I am also playing a role, willing myself, even, into some strange communion with an anger that exists somewhere outside of me—an anger that has never rightfully been my own.”

Tevye from Fiddler is of course the inspiration of the tweet, but it's all the same fucking thing: conservatism is always for conserving the old ways. You've got to shake what happened to your great grandparents, they are not you. This links to two of my favorite topics lately:

political correctness police acting like right wing Christian or Islamic zealots
shared DNA does not mean you will like the person nor be simpatico with them nor want to be in a tribe with them

Then my brain went further to how sex and evolution is all about finding genes and partners outside the tribe who can contribute something new and different that might help improve things...
