It's something we don't understand, but then we don't really understand how the GOP got such firm majorities everywhere and don't have their base totally pissed at them. What's amazing and scary is that Impeachment (or conviction) certainly isn't a sure thing, no matter what the revelations of the last week/year. Someone at 538 was trying to describe a 2 point drop in Trump popularity as "perhaps" a sign of final free-fall. What's more likely it's normal variation - Trump has stayed around 42% ± 2% popularity for 1 1/2 years now - it's an incredible feat of defying gravity. Us mere earthlings would be wise to pay attention.</p> </div></div></div> Sat, 05 Oct 2019 09:30:02 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 272157 at http://dagblog.com Rudy's the man, Trump's fave http://dagblog.com/comment/272147#comment-272147 <a id="comment-272147"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/comment/272050#comment-272050">Rudy keeps on giving:</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Rudy's the man, Trump's fave surrogate, best talking points, yuge ratings, bigly:</p> <p> </p><div class="media_embed"> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en" height="" width=""> <p dir="ltr" lang="en" xml:lang="en">Rudy has been booking himself on TV, with Trump’s blessing.<br /><br /> Via <a href="https://twitter.com/swin24?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@swin24</a> <a href="https://t.co/SllkSlLeaH">https://t.co/SllkSlLeaH</a></p> — Sam Stein (@samstein) <a href="https://twitter.com/samstein/status/1180194324929290240?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 4, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async="" charset="utf-8" height="" src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" width=""></script></div> </div></div></div> Sat, 05 Oct 2019 06:23:31 +0000 artappraiser comment 272147 at http://dagblog.com Pence implicated: http://dagblog.com/comment/272075#comment-272075 <a id="comment-272075"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/comment/272046#comment-272046">Trump wants dirt on Pence,</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Pence implicated:</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/pence-gave-ukraine-the-message-too">https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/pence-gave-ukraine-the-message-too</a></p> </div></div></div> Thu, 03 Oct 2019 07:51:39 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 272075 at http://dagblog.com Five Thirty Eight is now http://dagblog.com/comment/272074#comment-272074 <a id="comment-272074"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/world-affairs/uke-gate-grab-bag-critical-threads-6-29181">(11) UKE-GATE IMPEACH GRAB BAG - CRITICAL THREADS</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Five Thirty Eight is now tracking the polls on mpeachment:</p> <p> </p><div class="media_embed"> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-cards="hidden" data-lang="en" height="" width=""> <p dir="ltr" lang="en" xml:lang="en">Wondering how Americans are feeling about impeachment?
