'I'm sick and tired of the shootings': 2 men shot and killed inside Northeast D.C. home

WASHINGTON (WJLA) — Authorities are investigating a deadly double-shooting inside of a home late Wednesday night in Northeast Washington.

The victims have been identified as 24-year-old Devon Miller, of Northeast, DC, and 27-year-old Lekelefac Fonge, of Lanham, MD.

They were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the suspect, 27-year-old Davon Peyton, left the area on foot, and he's described as a black male between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 with dreadlocks and wearing dark clothing.

According to investigators, the suspect(s) were allowed to enter the home when "something" occurred inside of the residence which resulted in the shooting.

Metropolitan Police Chief Peter Newsham discussed the shooting during a media briefing late Wednesday night.

“It’s pretty clear we are having an increase in shootings in our city, I think we collectively need to do something different with how we’re handling illegal gun toters and shooters in our city," says Newsham.

The police chief added “I’m sick and tired of the shootings that are happening in our city and I think collectively we have to do something about it." [....]

Police investigating fourth murder in DC's Ward 6 in less than 24 hours

WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Police are investigating a deadly shooting in the District that happened Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened in the 1200 block of I St. in Southeast, which is the Potomac Gardens Public Housing. Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect wearing a black mask, a black top and khaki pants.

The victim has been identified as a 36-year-old Marcus Williams of Southeast DC. Williams worked as an employee with the DC Housing Authority.

Police believe he might have been having lunch in his car when someone approached and attempted to rob him [....]
