Well, the Thai lady who does my nails, and also fills me with her broad wisdom tells me that the Thai King can do anything he wants to do. She said that even saying a word on Facebook and then traveling home years later (if you are Thai) can mean you will be taken into custody and never seen again.

I also have a young friend who teaches English in Thailand. She concurs with this, and also is expected to (as in MUST) celebrate the King’s birthday every year. She is down with that because it is great fun for the most part.

Sounds like his power is absolute, but unlike trump’s BFF in Korea, the Thai King is a benevolent dictator and everyone wins. (Unless you cross him, I guess)

for me this story begs the question: how does a fourth wife get the queen title in the first place? With similar methods that got her in trouble now? Just sayin', admit I don't know much about the rules of the game here...
