The guys preparing food were getting it worst, and were a ready made conduit for transporting the virus via meals. I suspect if this aerosol transmission was so effective, we'd have 1 billion infected by now - how many walked out of Trump and religious events infected? Not that many. 1 month to infect only 1/5 the passengers and crew largely unawares? Not a very successful virus Transmission stratégy:

This internal Cabin (random Cruise ship/deck, not Diamond Princess) is about 9.5x17 feet. Bathroom to bathroom shared ventilation with adjacent cabin looks to be 1-2 feet - presumably short enough to carry water droplets as well, and quite different from an open restaurant A/C situation even if it Is "airborne". But i think they bill the paper as being quite speculative.

Over 1 month, 712 of 3711 passengers & crew (19%) became infected, which seems to me a pretty damn low infection rate for a claustrophobic setting considering what they're positing. Note that no testing was Done til the last 2 weeks, so Transmission had free rein. Also, a number of cases were traced to crew doing food preparation.

Fri, 31 Jul 2020 08:30:00 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 286248 at http://dagblog.com he's put up a thread of http://dagblog.com/comment/286246#comment-286246
In reply to so what does this mean for

he's put up a thread of answers on what needs to be done, none of them are pretty

Fri, 31 Jul 2020 08:04:02 +0000 artappraiser comment 286246 at http://dagblog.com so what does this mean for http://dagblog.com/comment/286237#comment-286237
In reply to new "slam dunk" study about

so what does this mean for lots of people working and living in buildings like this with central HVAC?

http://dagblog.com/link/virus-turns-midtown-ghost-town-causing-economic-crisis-31941

Fri, 31 Jul 2020 05:15:44 +0000 artappraiser comment 286237 at http://dagblog.com new "slam dunk" study about http://dagblog.com/comment/286236#comment-286236
In reply to The Countries Best And Worst Prepared For An Epidemic [Infographic]

new "slam dunk" study about aerosol transmission on cruise ship:

AEROSOL—Computer model of the Diamond Princess cruise utbreak found that the virus spread most readily in microscopic droplets light enough to linger in the air—it was aerosol.
