Let me be clear and put it this way: I don't think I ever disagreed with a single thing Obama ever said, can't think of one (I also always thought he and Hillary were alike as two politicians could be and didn't have a preference which won the primary. At the top you have to have people who work all sides of the fence. It's a big country! The red blue divide is ginned up by those who benefit from it but done with moderation instead of antagonism a majority can be formed about a lot of things, there's a lot of purple potential out there.. I think of how Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich made deals while Gingrich played the culture war game for the gullible. Or conversely, how Reagan played moderate and sensible for the gullible which allowed him to do radical stuff. Biden and Harris together bridge a lot of identity politics divides, that leaves real politics to get done in Congress with their assistance. They're good for the roles. People give too much attention to those roles, downticket is much more important, including state politics.
