Wisconsin people just keep doing the same stuff, sit and wait for it to return to 1960 and the jobs to come back. Zero innovation in the culture, no recognition of time passing and things changing. Dairy farmers keep dairying and growing corn, brewery workers keep drinking beer and watching the Packers (named after meat packing) while waiting for the breweries to come back, factory workers drive around on their Harleys while waiting for Harnsichfiger to come back and build big machinery again....

Edit to add: even the segregation and white flight of Milwaukee is part of this, everybody just believes as if it is 1960. Where blacks will live in their own high crime low education neighborhoods and wait for their jobs to come back instead of trying to get along and live with whites sell drugs and learn how to steal to get by (and don't drink milk!) and whites will live in their own neighborhoods with better schools but sit and wait for the smart kids to move back from wherever they moved because they couldn't stand living in 1960 anymore. When the kids come back to visit it appears that they mix with people of other races, too, and share appreciation for parts of all cultures, go figure.

And don't get me started about liberal college town Madison. The non-student population stayed white white white, the locals from stock of dairy farmers surrounding it.

Sat, 15 Aug 2020 11:25:50 +0000 artappraiser comment 287018 at http://dagblog.com Dairy rights yeah!
