We have only heard from #Pfizer so far. If this is true however, and an Emergency Use Authorization is granted, here is what it means. By the end of this year, people (outside of a clinical trial) could receive the #CovidVaccine for the first time. Potentially before Christmas.

Curious what Vanderbilt's role is - not to be snitty, but to get an idea what it means "Dolly helped cure Covid...."
(whe was very early and public in donating last April, including a story on CNN, which no doubt encouraged other donors at a time when infections weren't that high but time needed to prepare different areas)

Vanderbilt's carrying out Phase 3 clinical trials on vaccines for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson (possible other work as well - I imagine they don't get invited to carry out the clinical trials without strong prior experience, both HIV & early Covid work). Avg cost of Phase 3 five years ago was $19 million, and this one's being expedited - 30,000 participants for the Moderna one?, so say $50 million at least. $1 million was a nice early kickstart to all that.
