Yang is going to have some sort of place in government in the future. He fits in to the entire societal mix we have going on too well - he's a Democrat who appealed to young men a great deal, he's one of the first East Asians to try national politics, he fits with the socialist wave while also understanding how to use American capitalist language, there's a million other reasons. He was a small part of the Obama administration. We'll just see how he eventually does fit in to things.

but it doesn't sound like him and his group have been that successful at lobbying, see the story afterwards on that thread, doesn't sound like outright payments are in the newest bill bipartisan bill just unveiled a short while ago, only extension of unemployment. And though the latter clearly is making progress, it's also got some negotiation to go.

Still, it's very intriguing that he's jumping right into this, not at all afraid to just "DO IT". Worst case is that he learns more about how it's done!
