Trump was legally in charge of securing the District, and Trump fomented the riot. "Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!" Pence had to eventually call out the NG.

Trump was too dumb to realize (1) his role in this -when it inevitably got out of control- would scar him badly and forever, and (2) these hooligans don't give a crap if it does screw Trump, they used him to justify doing this, as he thought he would use them for revenge on Congress. They are just like Trump, they don't care about anyone but themselves. Well, they won, Trump lost.

They got what they wanted, a deadly chaotic rampage in the Capitol, temporarily venting the hate and anger of their miserable, conspiracy filled lives, Trump will get another impeachment.

“There’s one question I just can’t shake: What if these rioters had looked like the folks who go to Ebenezer Baptist Church every Sunday? What would have been different?” the former first lady asked in her statement.
“I think we all know the answer,” she said.

Obama later contrasted the Capitol rioters with people like Colin Kaepernick, who has long endured wide criticism — notably from Trump — for kneeling at NFL games in 2016 during the national anthem to protest racism.

Kaepernick, a former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, has remained unsigned by any team since he became a free agent after the 2016 season.

“And for those who call others unpatriotic for simply taking a knee in silent protest, for those who wonder why we need to be reminded that Black Lives Matter at all, yesterday made it painfully clear that certain Americans are, in fact, allowed to denigrate the flag and symbols of our nation,” she wrote. “They’ve just got to look the right way.”

Officers did not offer BLM liquids to soothe the burning eyes caused by pepper spray

In the coming weeks, we’ll undoubtedly hear the argument that now is the time for centrism and compromise and bipartisan efforts. That argument is wrong. There is no compromise with politicians who amass power, hoard it, and refuse to relinquish it when the democratic process does not work in their favor. There is no compromise with politicians who create a set of conditions that allow a coup attempt to take place, resulting in four deaths, countless injuries, and irreparable damage to the country both domestically and internationally. These people do not care about working with their colleagues on the other side of the proverbial aisle. They have an agenda, and whenever they are in power, they execute that agenda with precision and discipline. And they do so unapologetically.

It’s time for Democrats to use their power in the same way and legislate without worrying about how Republican voters or politicians will respond. Cancel student loan debt. Pass another voting rights act that enfranchises as many Americans as possible. Create a true path to citizenship for undocumented Americans. Implement a $15 minimum hourly wage. Enact “Medicare for all.” Realistically, only so much is possible with a slender majority in the Senate, but the opportunity to make the most of the next two years is there.
