^ case of special interest because it intersects with the crackdown by the social media giants. So many wingers have gotten in the habit of threatening violence against the the most prominent left celebrity pols, it is mostly facetious but moderators can't know what is in a person's head, hatred and anger, it's allowed in speech but they can't know which one is a stalker in real life, so they have to ban it all.

AND it contributes to rabid divisiveness for sure, ramping up hatred against individuals and groups.

CAVEAT: what do you do about the Kathy Griffin's "advocating" the beheading of the president?

I think this case is lucky in a way, provides a chance for deterrent effect through the legal system, as the verbal threats are linked with actual violent activity. It's like this: prosecute when you can. Even if it's thrown out, people then think twice before doing it. A similar phenomenon: people learned you don't make jokes about bombs in the TSA line, just don't do it.

Per @FBI: dozen guns, 100s of rounds, showing up in Senate w/Taser and zip ties, etc etc. Bringing weapons to DC.. Pictures of him brandishing weapons ...

None of this led Judge Frensley to conclude #ZipTieGuy might be an ongoing danger.
