(perhaps we can take the "Intelligence" out of AI & replace it with something more precise - like "Automated Profiling & Assumptions", which is what we often do when we think we're cognifying, or since we're crap at actually evaluating people in person (see Malcolm Gladwell's piece comparing judges vs AI in assessing the risk of recidivism in giving probation), we can just let APA do all the dirty work in opaquely deciding your future in job interviews, credit ratings, police evaluations, social marketing, and what not. And if you're not average enough not to fit the deep fake model required of you, you can take classes to work on those pesky outlier points that keep you from fitting within the standard deviation, vs the new breed of "deviants")

(also a bit odd to find out that women don't like wearing clothes - who knew? they faked it for so long...)

The study is yet another reminder that AI often comes with baked-in biases. As algorithms control increasingly large parts of our lives, it is a problem with devastating real-world consequences.
