I am not solving all of my problems so I won't get uppity about other people. But I think the following can't hurt as a set of guidelines:

Challenge statements as you see fit. Observe what is not addressed from your point of view. Ignore what has no bearing upon the matter as you understand it if it doesn't challenge your observations or interest you. If something is dead, don't pour your blood in the cup to hear more about it.

What makes it a taunt is the personal contempt that is expressed. It weakens the strength of his discourse when he does it. It weakens the strength of your discourse when you do it. The mutuality of it is cloying to those outside of the party. It reminds me of being stuck in a subway car that has stalled between stations while a family starts yelling at each other.

When any of us do it, it turns a topic immediately into a meta-discussion like the one I have initiated here. I can only imagine how boring that must be for people outside of the group. It bores me even though I stick around. Shame on me, as the expression goes.

That was "describing", not "taunting". Note, however out of context the name "Chauvin" is to whatever rmrd wants to say, he'll go off, and the next thing you know it's a 20-line pedantic haiku invoking whatever race-dotted thing he wants as filler. He's the resident race-scold, the race expert has spoken (btw, you know he works with some kids on racial equality issues that trumps any opinion that you or i would every have, out there in the "real wrorld"), always ready to pull his shtick. There's no new ground to break - he's not interested in discussion, he's interested in drudgery, a thick tar dragging whatever down into the miasma. That makes his day.
But if you want to call it "taunting", fine. Just after so many years the act is rather tiring. And speaking of "taunting", since OGD showed back up, that's his shtick - rmrd's sidekick to taunt especially AA, sometime me. But whatevs - we survived Wattree & Hal, we'll survive this.
