Yes! It is exactly the same thing! And the "ratings" for what the particular Karen choses to complain about are the decider about who gets punished. Not rule of law, not an independent arbiter like police, judge or jury. Ratings. Populist rule. Can be good, can also be horrific.

Interesting on many levels. First, gosh lookit that, police officers de-escalating a situation, will wonders never cease: At least two police officers can be seen corralling Gorder and Beer away from the group, prompting most of the protesters to walk away. But I thought they brutally abused all BLM protestors! That does not fit with The Narrative! Why are you filming and publicizing it? I am confused! White police are on your side now?!

Then this line just slays me, it's like out of a SNL skit: “It is a duty to fight for our freedom!” one protester can be heard shouting back at the couple. In a quiet middle class MN residential neighborhood? They are keeping slaves or prisoners there? One of those houses has a dungeon?

Then I thought more seriously about the free speech issues, including hate speech. Seems like these days if a guy and his wife decide to get drunk at home on Sunday and then go outside and yell hey you kids, get off my lawn, they should be advised that it could be filmed by the kids who will post it on social media and then appear in national publications. In which case your employer will see it and, if they are in a business that relies on reputation of dealing with children, they might fire you or put you on "investigative leave".

Conclusion: Big Brother everywhere now. While there's a big movement to protest against police when actually it may be that our worst authoritarian enemy now is the fellow citizen with a cell phone. People with cell phones police public speech and behavior the minute you step outside your house. Nobody hires them; they are us. There is no doing away with "cancel culture", it is here forever now, what is suitable public speech and behavior will be enforced by those who know how to get back atcha.

We all live in that nightmare small town now where everybody watches everybody else's business. There's definitely good sides and bad sides to that. As someone who prizes their privacy, I like the idea of hiring cops to do this. But there's always been those type with "neighborhood watch" signs in their window.

You know what? Just popped into my head! Clarence Thomas defined the phenomenon long time ago!

Imposing these liberal-backed policies will only compel these killers to search for greener pastures elsewhere—and frankly, I wouldn’t blame them.” Miller went on to argue that if the Democrat-led effort had its way, the shooters might even be forced to bring these mass casualties abroad to Mexico or China.
