At least 8 injured in shootings, cuttings in New Orleans Saturday night

At least six people were wounded in shootings and another two were cut Saturday evening into Sunday morning, according to information from the New Orleans Police Department.

The incidents included:

Two people were shot at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Louisa and Pleasure streets. The victims were approached by three suspects who opened fire. The victims returned fire and the three others fled. No information on either the victims or suspects was available.

A woman was carjacked just after 7 p.m. Saturday on the 2100 block of St. Claude Avenue. She was approached by two men, one of whom had a gun. She got out, they drove off. The car was later recovered, police said.

A 15-year old boy and a 15-year old girl were walking along the 900 block of Canal street when the suspect, with whom the victims had an "ongoing feud," according to NOPD, approached. Police were called and found both victims with lacerations. They were taken to University Medical Center. The 17-year old was arrested and the weapon was found at scene.

Just before 11 p.m. Saturday, two people got into a car wreck, and one of them shot. The victim was taken to a local hospital.

Two people, one of them a man, were shot after a fight at around midnight near the corner of Canal St. and Roosevelt Way, police said. During the fight, the suspect pulled a gun and shot both of them. They were taken to University Medical Center.

Just before 4 a.m. Sunday, a woman was shot after she argued with a man in the 4900 block of Pentland Drive. During the fight, the suspect picked up the victim's gun and attempted to hit her with it, according to police. The gun went off and the woman was hit. She was taken to the hospital.

At 1:44 p.m., the NOPD reported a man was shot in the 6000 block of Downman Road and was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition. No further information was available.

Suspect Wanted For Shooting Bouncer In Deep Ellum

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A search is underway for a suspect who shot a bouncer multiple times at a club in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas early Sunday, police said.

Police said the shooting happened in a parking lot at Elm Street and Crowdus Street and involved two men, the suspect and a bouncer, who got into an argument.

According to police at the scene, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the bouncer in the back three times as the bouncer was walking away. The suspect then ran away from the scene.

The victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition, police said [....]

Las Vegas police investigating fatal shooting northeast of downtown

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting just northeast of downtown Las Vegas Sunday evening.

At approximately 5:41 p.m. police responded to the 3200 block of Lava Ave, near Owens and N. Mojave after reports of an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Responding officers and medical personnel located a black male adult suffering from a gunshot wound inside one of the residences and he was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Police believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public [.....]

House in south Lincoln struck by gunfire

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln police responded to gunshots near the 1600 block of Prospect Street Sunday morning.

According to officials, nearby individuals heard about six to seven gunshots at around 4 a.m. Upon arriving, LPD found that a nearby household had been struck several times by gunshots.

LPD said there were no injuries due to the incident. Investigation into the incident is still ongoing [....]

Officers are on the scene of a shooting at 1750 Boxtown. One juvenile was located and xported to LeBonheur in non-critical condition, and one male was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chicago Shootings: 24 shot, 5 fatally in weekend violence across city

CHICAGO -- Five people were killed and at least 19 others were wounded in shootings across Chicago so far this weekend.

A 14-year-old boy was also killed in a West Garfield Park shooting Saturday night, according to police.

Police said the boy, later identified as Eddie Thigpen, was found shot in the abdomen near South Springfield and Madison around 9:30 p.m.

The boy was severely hurt and was not able to talk about what happened, according to police. He died at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

"How can you go and celebrate Mother's Day when within the last hour, three victims have succumbed to their injuries due to a gunshot wound?" said Andrew Holmes, a crisis responder.

Chicago police are still searching for the boy's killer. Officers said no one is in custody in this case.
