Sheffer's book documents that the Nazis seemed to groom young men with autism for a place in the Reich while young women were discarded. The goal of rearing ubermensch seemed about in line with other Nazi programs like lebensborn.</p> <p>As for Grunya Sukhareva and Lev Vygotsky, the only material I found when I searched for it was very, very recent - like the Psychology Today article I cited. Grunya Sukhareva and Lev Vygotsky's work itself is in short supply, much like a lot of Soviet intellectuals. This post was intended largely as an inquiry as to why information about this is being revealed as slowly as it is. One theory I have as to why the history of this disorder got so weird and convoluted is exactly that - a lack of context and information given the totalitarianism and tension of WW2 and the Cold War.</p> <p>Mr. Silberman: Would you be willing to do a Q&amp;A  for Dagblog? Podcasts are a bit more popular these days and I know how to produce them. Dagblog has a large audience.</p> </div></div></div> Wed, 26 May 2021 01:09:32 +0000 Orion comment 305916 at http://dagblog.com What's his par? http://dagblog.com/comment/305903#comment-305903 <a id="comment-305903"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/comment/305897#comment-305897">^ Orion, you&#039;ve attracted a</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>What's his par?<br /></p><div class="media_embed" height="340px" width="600px"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="340px" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LpH4Fblhang" title="YouTube video player" width="600px"></iframe></div> </div></div></div> Tue, 25 May 2021 19:05:48 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 305903 at http://dagblog.com ^ Orion, you've attracted a http://dagblog.com/comment/305897#comment-305897 <a id="comment-305897"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/comment/305896#comment-305896">&quot;The involvement of Grunya</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>^ Orion, you've attracted a pro from Dover, time to up your game.</p> </div></div></div> Tue, 25 May 2021 17:47:56 +0000 artappraiser comment 305897 at http://dagblog.com "The involvement of Grunya http://dagblog.com/comment/305896#comment-305896 <a id="comment-305896"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/reader-blogs/more-complex-history-autism-34311">More on the Complex History of Autism</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>"The involvement of Grunya Sukhareva and Lev Vygotsky in pioneering autism in the USSR has only been revealed recently. I've never seen this claim about Asperger. Earnestly curious.</p> <p>Thanks.</p> </div></div></div> Tue, 25 May 2021 17:20:21 +0000 Steve Silberman comment 305896 at http://dagblog.com
