This seems like a case where a writer saw a story, latched onto a very specific interpretation of what was said (which just so happened to be the one that would drive the most attention to the piece...), and filed it without fact-checking.

Especially when it has to do with a deadly pandemic, where like: accurate info. is probably more fundamental than in any other situation....If you don't have time to thoroughly research a story, how about not publishing it until you can?

[This seems to be a response to Rolling Stone's unwise publication, *not* a diss against Lulu's Medium article, which seems pretty thorough & well-written, though at 6 weeks old may *may* already start to date. Counter me if not accurate. - PP]
