I'd certainly be wary of being a guinea pig for this, I'd guess they don't know what the fuck they're doing and patients are truly guinea pigs. The thing to keep in mind with "novel" treatments is that these specialists aren't usually wholistic types and don't give a second thought to quality of life. You see glowing success stories in the media, i.e. "this quadriplegic can walk again" or some such, and those stories are the results of p.r. agents and they don't promote the stories of the treatments gone wrong, where the patient has a way worse life with more complications after the treatment than before.

(for some strange reason, though,.plastic surgeons don't get this benefit, people seem to love the stories of plastic surgery gone wrong, I guess that is schaudenfraude over the vanitas issue.)

Depending on which total you believe, we have either beat the death total from our Civil War, or are close to it. The percentage is different, of course.

We passed the American casualties for WWII a long time ago. And more than 12 times the American deaths from Vietnam..
