Yes, people often vote against their own interests. Hillary offered West Virginia something like $30 billion to transition into the post-coal green energy age, and instead they voted a fraud who promised them supports and a revival of past pseudo-glory of late 1800s coal fields that would obviously never appear. Florida re-elects hucksters who mismanaged the Covid pandemic helping thousands to die unnecessarily. I agree that the Dem program might be "unattractive", but part of it is that many people have shitty taste, so you have to offer them shit in different wrappings, part of it is that the Dems don't always recognize shitty offerings themselves or pay attention to their actual customers/constituencies.
But Antonio gets oh so boring so quick at times, even though yes, Hispanics including both Mexicans and Cubans are doing pretty well these days compared to "El Norte" films back in the 80's, which is driving Texas's demographic balloon for one and shapes a more complex response to welfare programs and ethnic angst.

Mon, 25 Oct 2021 09:13:06 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 310951 at http://dagblog.com as if they're children who http://dagblog.com/comment/310938#comment-310938
In reply to Biden Has Lost Support Across All Groups Of Americans, But Especially Independents And Hispanics

as if they're children who can't judge their own welfare (Reminds me how this one of my least favorite attitudes on Democratic blog sites, including this one in the past.
