It simply states information that contradicts the basic premise of the item. No explanation. No apology to Julian Assange, whom it had essentially accused of lying. Although undated, it appears to have gone up roughly 72 hours after the article was posted, and considerably more than 48 hours after numerous commenters first pointed out Politico's error.</p> <p>"Reporter" Keach Hagey apparently did not read the comments her item generated until one of them emailed her personally. Here is part of her reply to "Geoff":</p> <p>"Thanks for pointing this out. You're right, I would benefit by checking back to read comments more often. Before posting the item, I reached out to the Post to help me find the article in question, because their archives didn't turn it up. It took them 24 hours to find it the article, and <strong>I should have updated then.</strong>"</p> <p>My emphasis. Get that? The writer knew her item was incorrect about two full days before the correction appeared. A disgusting, shoddy parody of journalism. Politico sucks even worse than I thought.</p></div></div></div> Thu, 05 Aug 2010 18:12:51 +0000 acanuck comment 11917 at http://dagblog.com Alvin Greene is all the http://dagblog.com/comment/11897#comment-11897 <a id="comment-11897"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/comment/11896#comment-11896">The Wikipedia site on the</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Alvin Greene is all the reason you need to believe our boy Basil has a shot.</p></div></div></div> Fri, 30 Jul 2010 16:46:15 +0000 William K. I looked up this crazy Basil guy and found that he's one of several Republican candidates running for governor. There's also several Democrats and several independents. Have they not yet held their primaries, or is it a free-for-all?</p></div></div></div> Fri, 30 Jul 2010 15:38:55 +0000 Atheist comment 11895 at http://dagblog.com
