I'm genuinely surprised how rapidly an ideology of encouraging racial resentment and conflict at all times, everywhere has gone from fringe corners of academia all the way up to high-ranking elected officials. This is an actual threat to democracy that is never identified as so.

I wonder whether he learned to say that from his second attorney who seemed like a sensible man and blamed the first attorney for being out for publicity for himself.

It still leaves the vigilante and gun rights issues, as self-defense replacements for missing police, of course. That mindset affects all races now and even all income levels, though I would venture that it's hurting poor the worst.

The census did that. Grouped people into categories. Why? Since 1790, they counted the population of each state get the number of delegates for the House of Representatives. Freed slaves counted as 3/5 of a representative, although they couldn’t vote.
