It's kind of like listening to the Everly Brothers or Buddy Holly in 2022 or maybe Janis &amp; Jimi - sure they were great, but... I cringe every time someone mentions the Get Back documentary - the stuff of dinosaurs.</p> <p>(oh, and anyone get family members, especially spouses, having a voice in the wake of a tragedy - especially since so many women like Aung San Suu Kyi and the lady in Belarus Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya (oof, or remembered it) pick up after their husbands' incarceration or murder, but family members anointed 55 years after a death is a bit cringey)</p> </div></div></div> Tue, 18 Jan 2022 06:07:00 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 313268 at http://dagblog.com a societal problem in http://dagblog.com/comment/313255#comment-313255 <a id="comment-313255"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/arts/dont-look-all-34990">Don&#039;t Look At All?</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p><em>a societal problem in processing relevant material.</em></p> <p>I'd say that's a correct definition here as well <img alt="cheeky" height="23" src="http://cdn.ckeditor.com/4.5.6/full-all/plugins/smiley/images/tongue_smile.png" title="cheeky" width="23" /> <img alt="laugh" height="23" src="http://cdn.ckeditor.com/4.5.6/full-all/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png" title="laugh" width="23" /></p> <p> </p><div class="media_embed"> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" height="" width=""> <p dir="ltr" lang="en" xml:lang="en">Wait, this makes CRT sound totally metal and awesome <a href="https://t.co/OnP6AoWnjW">https://t.co/OnP6AoWnjW</a></p> — Noah Smith (@Noahpinion) <a href="https://twitter.com/Noahpinion/status/1483281672644689924?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 18, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async="" charset="utf-8" height="" src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" width=""></script></div> <p>follow the tweets you find this</p> <p> </p><div class="media_embed"> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-conversation="none" height="" width=""> <p dir="ltr" lang="en" xml:lang="en">I broke the story about this curriculum for City Journal last year. Noah Smith types might even think it awesome. The problem is laying a moral and political narrative over such things,!!! For chrissakes how did we get here where everything, everything must be put within an approved political/moral narrative? That's not even what most postmodernists preached, they preached against that, were into "deconstructing" narratives, not making new ones!</p> </div></div></div> Tue, 18 Jan 2022 03:50:25 +0000 artappraiser comment 313255 at http://dagblog.com
