There has always been a division between hawks and doves on both left and right. I.E. isolationism on the right and anti-military peaceniks on the left. What is going on internationally right now is hawkishness in the face of danger.

To the point where famously neutral Switzerland has taken a stand!!!

In foreign policy, Woke theory is Post-Modern unrealistic kumbaya nonsense in that it rejects both, being totally focused on empires and "colonialists" oppressing minority indigenous peoples, that that is what has been wrong with the world for a millennia and that if we'd just let those people run things, everything would be wonderful. Because oppressed indigenous peoples of the earth are all good, wouldn't hurt a fly, and we need to let them rule for a change. In many ways actually a revival of the "noble savage" myths of the 18th and 19th century; they don't realize that they themselves are falling for exceptionalist shit in not allowing "indigenous" people the full agency of also being evil warmongers at times. Once again, I can't stress this enough-the dominance of Woke theory is destroying a whole generation of work in Humanities scholarship, it's just garbage.

Tue, 01 Mar 2022 12:04:50 +0000 artappraiser comment 314594 at http://dagblog.com Wokeism is going to lead in http://dagblog.com/comment/314587#comment-314587
In reply to David Rozado is an associate

Wokeism is going to lead in to progressivism embracing a lot of conservative norms. Something that this Ukraine invasion seems to be hurtling us toward fast.

I was watching MSNBC and there was no racial stuff. It was all coverage of Ukraine where the Democrats sounded like right wing talk radio back during the War on Terror, saying how we had to help these heroes fighting a tyrannical threat.

Tue, 01 Mar 2022 09:32:55 +0000 Orion comment 314587 at http://dagblog.com there is a lof of discussion http://dagblog.com/comment/314574#comment-314574
In reply to Use of ‘sexist’ and ‘racist’ in the New York Times increased over 400% since 2012.
