There's much more reason for high school kids to learn basic statistics and probability and logic than pre-Calculus, and if you are headed towards science you can do more. To sell real estate or work at Wendy's or handle online orders you don't need much.  Finding your way around a computer, a bit of Excel, how to use a CRM and Word/Google sheets is "employable" enough for many.</p> <p> </p><div class="media_embed"> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" height="" width=""> <p dir="ltr" lang="und" xml:lang="und"><a href="https://t.co/LOE6PkUfLR">pic.twitter.com/LOE6PkUfLR</a></p> — Architects Against Humanity (@arch_crimes) <a href="https://twitter.com/arch_crimes/status/1504081579877961729?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 16, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async="" charset="utf-8" height="" src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" width=""></script></div> </div></div></div> Thu, 17 Mar 2022 07:05:00 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 315421 at http://dagblog.com veetocorleone's new tweet: http://dagblog.com/comment/315413#comment-315413 <a id="comment-315413"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/link/results-san-francisco-united-school-districts-equity-experiment-35222">Results of San Francisco United School District&#039;s &quot;Equity&quot; Experiment</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>veetocorleone's new tweet:</p> <p> </p><div class="media_embed"> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" height="" width=""> <p dir="ltr" lang="en" xml:lang="en">Nigga couldn't even do $15.42 + $1.00 correctly <a href="https://t.co/SmsxnETkKb">https://t.co/SmsxnETkKb</a></p> — Never @ Me, PhD (@veetocorleone) <a href="https://twitter.com/veetocorleone/status/1504324191495286785?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 17, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async="" charset="utf-8" height="" src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" width=""></script></div> <p> </p><div class="media_embed"> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-conversation="none" height="" width=""> <p dir="ltr" lang="en" xml:lang="en">He stole resources and still couldn't do basic arithmetic</p> — Never @ Me, PhD (@veetocorleone) <a href="https://twitter.com/veetocorleone/status/1504324409842089984?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 17, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async="" charset="utf-8" height="" src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" width=""></script></div> </div></div></div> Thu, 17 Mar 2022 05:36:51 +0000 artappraiser comment 315413 at http://dagblog.com More on San Francisco http://dagblog.com/comment/315370#comment-315370 <a id="comment-315370"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/link/results-san-francisco-united-school-districts-equity-experiment-35222">Results of San Francisco United School District&#039;s &quot;Equity&quot; Experiment</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>More on San Francisco government:</p> <p> </p><div class="media_embed"> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" height="" width=""> <p dir="ltr" lang="en" xml:lang="en">Old San Francisco: famous for being unusually tolerant.<br /><br /> New San Francisco: can't tolerate most of America.<br /><a href="https://t.co/Zpggv7kJ3l">https://t.co/Zpggv7kJ3l</a></p> — Conor Friedersdorf (@conor64) <a href="https://twitter.com/conor64/status/1503580362097668102?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 15, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async="" charset="utf-8" height="" src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" width=""></script></div> </div></div></div> Wed, 16 Mar 2022 04:49:46 +0000 artappraiser comment 315370 at http://dagblog.com I know if I was a street-wise http://dagblog.com/comment/315369#comment-315369 <a id="comment-315369"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/link/results-san-francisco-united-school-districts-equity-experiment-35222">Results of San Francisco United School District&#039;s &quot;Equity&quot; Experiment</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>I know if I was a street-wise high school senior who never learned math beyond fractions, I would probably turn to crime, it's just that simple, there's not a lot of options for ya.</p> <p> </p><div class="media_embed"> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-conversation="none" height="" width=""> <p dir="ltr" lang="en" xml:lang="en">2/2<br /><br /> SF's black students did much better before accelerated courses were discontinued.
