Strange, i thought he was the first to be re-elected in ages, and there's heavy discontent about a variety of issues, yet Macron pulled together an "I hear you" vote to push back against a Le Pen protest vote. ((a stirred up disgruntlement in the US sunk Hillary in 2016, while a similarly right wing to Le Pen, Viktor Orban, win running away a few weeks ago in Hungary, so i think it was an important bullet to dodge.
