A record 193 homeless people died in Multnomah County, home to Portland, OR, in 2021, a 53% increase compared with the previous year.
Substances contributed to about 60% of those deaths.
Similar to 2020, methamphetamine was the most common drug noted in the county’s fatalities.

Overall not sure why I'd go back to LA - not sure what of the culture's survived, but maybe I'm just being grim. Is there an actual underground anymore?
