Production from the wells flow through steel casing, usually protected by 2 or 3 different strings of pipe. Periodic testing of these strings are required to discover any leak. The disposal of produced water is also strictly regulated. No contaminated water is pumped into any fresh water zone.

Mon, 13 Sep 2010 17:58:43 +0000 T-Daddy comment 12975 at http://dagblog.com good post, jamie. good to http://dagblog.com/comment/12968#comment-12968
In reply to A Guide to Natural Gas Fracking

good post, jamie. good to see you here.

Mon, 13 Sep 2010 17:05:48 +0000 anna am comment 12968 at http://dagblog.com Thanks, Atheist. That's http://dagblog.com/comment/12967#comment-12967
In reply to I really enjoyed this, Jamie.

Thanks, Atheist. That's pretty much what I was going for, so it's good to hear. Hope this was helpful.

Mon, 13 Sep 2010 17:04:12 +0000 Jamie Friedland comment 12967 at http://dagblog.com I really enjoyed this, Jamie. http://dagblog.com/comment/12958#comment-12958
In reply to A Guide to Natural Gas Fracking

I really enjoyed this, Jamie. I found it easy to read and very well written. I like how you presented multiple sides of the issue and remained mostly neutral. That is, although you state a clear opinion on the matter, you present your facts in a neutral manner. Very nicely done.

Mon, 13 Sep 2010 16:39:54 +0000 Atheist comment 12958 at http://dagblog.com
