The crash reportedly was caused by brake failure. Shaken and confused, Phoenix heard a tapping on his window and a voice say, "Just relax". Unable to see the man, Phoenix replied, "I'm fine. I am relaxed". The man replied, 'No, you're not'. At this point, Phoenix managed to see that the man was famed, eccentric German auteur Werner Herzog. After helping Phoenix out of the wreckage, Herzog phoned in an ambulance and vanished.</p> </blockquote> <p>I mean, that's just weird.  It sounds like a dream.</p></div></div></div> Thu, 12 Feb 2009 21:29:00 +0000 DF comment 3580 at http://dagblog.com Here's the link to the full http://dagblog.com/comment/3578#comment-3578 <a id="comment-3578"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/arts-entertainment/ashes-phoenix-475">The ashes of the Phoenix ... </a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Here's the link to the full interview - <a target="_blank" href="http://www.cbs.com/thunder/player/thunder.php?pid=TOnYWLFIAq4k8vA0Me2lpEWu5ovWrJzB">http://www.cbs.com/thunder/player/thunder.php?pid=TOnYWLFIAq4k8vA0Me2lpEWu5ovWrJzB</a></p> <p>If I hadn't seen some other stuff with joaquin related to his career change, I'd probably be wondering if some or most of this interview wasn't some kind of publicity, acting stunt, but Joaquin has always seemed to be nothing if not very serious and super-earnest.</p></div></div></div> Thu, 12 Feb 2009 20:59:04 +0000 Deadman comment 3578 at http://dagblog.com This is good stuff, but Dave http://dagblog.com/comment/3577#comment-3577 <a id="comment-3577"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/arts-entertainment/ashes-phoenix-475">The ashes of the Phoenix ... </a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>This is good stuff, but Dave is no stranger to bizarre interviews:</p> <p> <object height="344" width="425" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ALapHYNSmoA&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" /><embed height="344" width="425" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ALapHYNSmoA&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object> </p></div></div></div> Thu, 12 Feb 2009 20:48:34 +0000 DF comment 3577 at http://dagblog.com
