Unless how we vote and how our votes are counted change there will never be a viable third party. And since the two parties in the two party system are always in control they never have motivation to change things (why would they willingly change things to take away their power?). Sadly, our children's children's children will be having the same tired debates we are having about the Democrats and Republicans.

Wed, 29 Apr 2009 04:21:15 +0000 Larry Jankens comment 5223 at http://dagblog.com Arlen Specter's imaginary http://dagblog.com/comment/5220#comment-5220
In reply to I heard his imaginary friend

Arlen Specter's imaginary friend killed JFK?

Wed, 29 Apr 2009 03:28:54 +0000 Michael Wolraich comment 5220 at http://dagblog.com Look, Specter just knows http://dagblog.com/comment/5219#comment-5219
In reply to I'm ecstatic the Dems will

Look, Specter just knows things that Einstein didn't.

Wed, 29 Apr 2009 03:23:58 +0000 DF comment 5219 at http://dagblog.com I heard his imaginary friend http://dagblog.com/comment/5218#comment-5218
In reply to I'm ecstatic the Dems will

I heard his imaginary friend did it.

Wed, 29 Apr 2009 01:21:10 +0000 Orlando comment 5218 at http://dagblog.com I'm ecstatic the Dems will http://dagblog.com/comment/5217#comment-5217
In reply to Arlen Specter: Welcome to the Party

I'm ecstatic the Dems will soon have their highly symbolic 60 seats. If Harry Reid weren't so damn collegial, it might actually make a difference in getting Obama's agenda enacted and his appointees confirmed.

But I'll wait a bit before becoming a full-fledged Arlen Specter fan. I haven't liked him since, as an up-and-coming lawyer for the Warren Commission, he came up with the "magic bullet theory" in order to explain how just three shots (the first of which missed completely) could cause all the wounds to JFK and Texas governor Connolly. Yeah, you heard me right: Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone.

Wed, 29 Apr 2009 01:06:00 +0000 acanuck comment 5217 at http://dagblog.com
